University of Maine and the US Army Corps of Engi- neers used tire chips ground-up pieces of used rubber tires to surface part of the Dingley Road The project has since consisted of the Army measuring and monitoring the section of road to see how it has held up especially during the winter snow and bust Town Manager Phil Nadeau said the Army wants to use conventional paving methods to cover the portion of the road and study how that combination withstands the elements Tonight they will ask selectmen to allow them to do that Selectmen will meet at 7 pm at the town office get a L000-foot offenders from the program already have completed projects in Richmond including painting and building counters at the fire station If selectmen approve the proposal the program would bring first-time
