At the business meeting, delegates will be elected to the State meeting, district officers will be elected and new officers will be installed. Two Marines Face Salisbury Charges SALISBURY, Nov.
12 (P) Two Cherry Point Marines were arrested here yesterday and charged with the theft of three automobiles. two of them here. Jailed were Frank William Herrera, 20, formerly of Albuquerque, N.M., and Felix Jimmy Mariana, 19, formerly of Raton, N.M. Police Chief Dave Shuler said the allegedly caught a ride with a Negro, John Funderburke, near Winston-Salem last night. They beat Funderburke with their fists and forced him from the car somewhere between Winston-Salem and Mocksville, Shuler said.
The two abandoned Funderburke's car here and then stole another car on a local street, abandoned it later when it ran out of gas, and then stole a third car from the owner's home, the police chief reported. They were picked up by Shuler and other officers shortly afterward. Shuler said Funderburke had identified Herrera and Mariana as the men who slugged him. He Acted Quickly In S. C.
Emergency ROCK HILL, S. Nov. 12 (P- What would you do if you saw a big truck baring down the highway toward you on your side of the road? Robert Howard Crainshaw of Kannapolis, N.C., saw that, and this is what he did: he stopped his station wagon, jumped out, slammed the door and started running. The truck struck the station wagon, knocked it 75 feet and mashed it into a lump, a total loss. The truck damage was estimated at $250.
